ALROSA Raises a Revenue of US$8.6 Mn at the Auction of Special Size Rough in Israel

ALROSA’s recently organised auction of special size (over 10.8 carats) rough diamonds, held at Ramat Gan, Israel, took in a revenue of US$8.6 million, from the sale of 116 rough diamonds with a total weight of 1,800 carats.

Companies from Israel, Belgium, India, UAE, Russia, Hong Kong and the US participated in the auction.

Evgeny Agureev, Deputy CEO of ALROSA commented: "The auction attracted clients from Israel, who traditionally specialise in large rough diamonds. Customers from other countries also participated. In total, there were 121 participants. The sales went well and met our expectations, we sold 75% of the offered volume.”

Under Russian law, ALROSA can only sell special size rough diamonds at international auctions. Every year, the company holds about 30 such auctions in Moscow, Vladivostok, Antwerp, Ramat Gan, Hong Kong, New York and Dubai. In Israel, ALROSA holds six auctions per year.
