ALROSA Group’s total diamond sales of both rough and polished diamonds for January 2020 reaching as it did US$405 million, seemed to be pulling ahead of 2019 sales figures, when the highest sales recorded were for March of that year of US$377.1 million. The January 2020 sales were higher by 44% year-on-year.

In this period, ALROSA Group sold rough diamonds amounting to US$390.2 million; and polished diamonds worth US$14.8 million.

“January saw steady demand for rough diamonds as cutters continued restocking on the back of positive Christmas jewellery retail sales,” commented Evgeny Agureev, Deputy CEO of ALROSA.
