ALROSA's Polished Diamond Auction in New York Garners US$4.8 Mn

ALROSA’s auction of polished diamonds, manufactured by the Company, held at New York recently, raised a revenue of US$ 4.8 million. 

At the auction, which was organised by Diamonds of ALROSA, the Company’s cutting and polishing division, a total of 255 polished diamonds with a total weight of 435 carats were sold. These represented 80% of all the stones offered, and included 21 stones of regular colour; 73 fancy coloured diamonds, such as Yellow, Pink and Purple; as well as nine sets of coloured diamonds with a total weight of 65 carats.

Reviews of the polished diamonds on offer took place at the trade representative office ALROSA USA Inc. The auction had the participation of companies from the US, Belgium, Israel, China, India, Hong Kong and Russia participated in the auction.

"We brought a diverse range of polished diamonds to New York, including fancy colours and different cuts,” said Pavel Vinikhin, Director of the Diamonds of ALROSA cutting division. “There were more than 50 participants, and customers from the US were among them as well. The auction was very successful, we sold the most part of the offered volume."

This was ALROSA’s second auction for polished diamonds in New York in 2019. The first one took place in summer and raised a revenue of US$ 3 million.
