Privately owned auction house Bonhams, which has been a purveyor of all things beautiful since 1793, has a bonanza in store with some of the finest gems and jewellery lined up for sale in various forthcoming auctions.
The Fine Jewelry, New York and Fine Jewelry, London scheduled for April 24, 2017 and April 27, 2017 respectively will see some dazzling creations going under the hammer.
For the New York auction Bonhams has an eclectic collection with estimated prices ranging from around US$ 5,000 to about US$ 600,000. The mix includes some antique jewellery, art deco pieces as well as creations with fancy coloured diamonds; it also includes jewellery from some of the world’s most renowned jewellers like Bulgari, Boucheron, Cartier and Harry Winston.
The offering includes an important fancy coloured diamond ring pegged at between US$ 400,000 – US$ 600,000; a diamond solitaire ring from Harry Winston estimated at between US$ 130,000- US$ 180,000; and a Fine Ruby and Diamond Clip Brooch from Cartier for between US$ 200,000- US$ 400,000.
The London auction will have antique pieces, coloured diamond pieces and unmounted stones and jewellery created by some stellar names on offer.
Leading the array is an impressive 10.28 carats diamond single-stone ring by Van Cleef & Arpels. The E colour marquise-cut diamond is set between pear-shaped diamond shoulders and is estimated at £ 150,000-£ 200,000.
A total of 141 lots of signed jewellery will also go up for sale in London.
“Notable pieces include a highly desirable Diamond 'Fuchsia' brooch and earring suite by Van Cleef & Arpels,” Bonhams said. “The brooch is designed as a fuchsia flower head, its petals pavé-set with brilliant-cut diamonds and its stamen reveals an articulated cascade of pear-shaped diamonds. Estimated at £70,000-100,000, the diamond suite, consisting of 27.05 carats, is set to appeal to collectors of period Van Cleef & Arpels, given the small quantities made.”
The third auction of this grand slam is the Rare Jewels & Jadeite Sale scheduled for May 31, 2017 in Hong Kong. This sale promises to have some of the best coloured gemstone set jewellery seen in recent times.
Slated delights include an important and rare emerald and diamond pair of earrings estimated at between HK$ 3,800,000 - HK$ 4,800,000 and an important ruby and diamond bracelet estimated at between HK$ 2,300,000 and 2,800,000.
