GJEPC to Organise India Pavilion at UBM’s June & September Hong Kong Shows

The Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) recently signed an agreement with UBM Asia Ltd. for cooperation between the two bodies. Specifically, the agreement relates to the organisation of an India Pavilion by the GJEPC at UBM’s June and September editions of the Hong Kong Jewellery & Gem Fair 2018 – two leading and sought after shows for the gems and jewellery industry.

While the June Hong Kong Jewellery & Gem Fair (6JG) is scheduled to take place from June 21-24, 2018 and will be held at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre; the September Hong Kong Jewellery & Gem Fair  (9JG) is slated to take place between September 12-16, 2018 at AsiaWorld Expo, and between September 14-18, 2018 at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre.

Exhibitors at the India Pavilion will enjoy group advertising benefits fully supported by GJEPC, the organisation said.

GJEPC Chairman Pramod Agarwal said, “Hong Kong has been the second largest export market for the Indian gem and jewellery industry. The two UBM shows of June and September are important platforms for the Indian gems and jewellery industry as these shows will not only help us to expand our reach in the Hong Kong market, but will also give access to other key markets in Asia. In a landmark cooperation agreement with UBM, we have made sure that our best manufacturers get this opportunity at the India Pavilion to showcase their capabilities in terms of best cuts and jewellery design.”

At the June fair, the India Pavilion will cover 582 sqm housing 50 exhibitors – companies dealing in gemstones will be located in Hall No. 5E; while  diamond companies will be located in Hall No. 3BDCE.

At  the September show, the India Pavilion will include a total of 110 exhibitors spread over an area of 1,419 sqm. At this show, the gemstones section will be in Hall No. 10; the diamond companies in Hall No. 11 and the companies showcasing fine jewellery will be located in Hall No. 3E.

“India, today, is the most sought after sourcing destination for gems and jewellery for the global market,” the GJEPC said. “The overall gem and jewellery exports for the period April 2017 – Jan 2018 accounted for US$ 33,903.28 million.
