Gemfields Partners Danish Design House Georg Jensen To Create New Collection

Gemfields, which has been partnering with renowned international designers to create some stunning jewellery studded with its rubies from Mozambique and emeralds from Zambia, has, most recently, allied with Danish design house Georg Jensen for its new collection.


Gemfields asserts that its rubies are much sought after “given their exceptional quality and colour and because of previous supply restrictions elsewhere in the market”.


Georg Jensen’s “strikingly modern, minimalist designs provide the perfect canvas for incorporating coloured gemstones” feels Gemfields. Also, Vivianna Torun, designer of some of Georg Jensen's most iconic jewellery pieces, provided inspiration for the first Gemfields collaboration, the company reveals.


The highlight of the collection are the Runa Necklaces – a cascade of “generously sized” emeralds set in brilliant yellow gold. For Georg Jensen this marks the first of the “high-jewellery” pieces created by it.


 The  collection also includes  a recreation of Torun's historic Dew Drop necklace with  matching earrings in rose gold with Gemfields’ Mozambican rubies.


As part of its Dune collection, Georg Jensen is offering a sculpted bangle and ring crafted in rose gold and accented with Gemfields' rubies.
