Alrosa has resumed on-site meetings with its long-term clients, previously postponed due to the pandemic. The delegation, headed by Alrosa\u2019s Deputy CEO Evgeny Agureev, paid a visit to the company\u2019s partners in India. As soon as restrictions allow, the company plans to visit its clients in all international diamond centres, starting with Antwerp.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Companies originating from India account for over two-thirds of the Alrosa Alliance Community. The Community brings together the company\u2019s existing and potential clients, based off their adherence to responsible business principles and proven track record as responsible buyers of rough diamonds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Alrosa\u2019s representatives, including Evgeny Agureev, Deputy CEO, Stanislav Martanus, Head of Customer Policy Center, Dmitry Amelkin, Director of Cutting and Polishing Division, and Jim Vimadalal, Director of Alrosa’s representative office in India, last week visited the world\u2019s largest diamond manufacturing hub in Surat and Bharat Diamond Bourse (BDB) in Mumbai. The delegation had also visited the GJEPC Head Office in BDB.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Evgeny Agureev, Deputy CEO of Alrosa, said: \u201cThe Indian diamond cutting and polishing industry is Alrosa\u2019s long time honoured partner. As the global cutting and polishing centre, India processes more than 90% of all diamonds in the world, including Alrosa\u2019s. In March 2020, the pandemic interrupted our regular meetings with international partners. We are glad that regulations allowed us to pay a visit to India before the Diwali festive break. Alrosa pays close attention to additional value creation, so we visited not only our long-term clients\u2019 cutting and polishing facilities, but also jewellery factories. All clients are equally important to us. We look forward to visiting them as soon as travel restrictions allow.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Alrosa established its representative office in Mumbai, India, in April 2018.
