Aggressive midstream buying amid the continuing supply shortage of rough diamonds has prompted De Beers to raise prices by 8% at its first sight of 2022 in Botswana, reports Bloomberg<\/em>, citing unidentified sources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This latest price hike follows the continuing trend of miners raising rough prices throughout 2021, the article notes. Larger stones were valued some 5% higher, while smaller stones traded up as much as 20%, at this week\u2019s sale, it adds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
