Here\u2019s the final round-up of JCK Las Vegas by our US-based correspondent Smitha Sadanandan, who met with Indian exhibitors showcasing ceramic and enamelled jewellery, emerald sunglass chains and unusual diamond cuts!<\/em><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

With a legacy of over 45 years in the field of cutting and polishing natural emeralds, emerging brand Empriyal\u2019s co-founders Priya and Navneet Maheshwari debuted the JCK Show with several wearables. Their emerald eternity bands and emerald sunglass chains proved a high among buyers. \u201cA retailer bought the sunglass chain for himself. We will update our sunglass chain collection with more designs now that we see reasonable interest in such gem-set accessories,\u201d shared Priya. Station necklaces, huggie hoops and stackable station bracelets were an easy sell. \u201cOur rainbow sapphire and single-line emerald bracelets had many takers. We are excited to be back next year with an array of new designs and stackable styles,\u201d said the founders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Surat-based diamond faceting and polishing company Kakadiam debuted this year\u2019s JCK show with an assortment of small round full cut diamonds, white diamonds, white naat diamonds (a \u2018knot\u2019 or blemish). Despite the initial challenges during the pandemic, they managed to streamline their business at their factory in Surat, working in tandem with cutting and polishing craftsmen across their network of smaller villages (taluks). They expressed delight at being able to attend an international event and were hopeful of finding new buyers in the US market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Family-run Param Exports were second time exhibitors at JCK and showcased their diamonds at the Diamond Pavilion. With exceptional special cuts catering to luxury brands overseas, the business focuses on portrait cut, old cut, rose cut diamonds and, they also possess great expertise in drilling cut and polished diamonds. \u201cWe love to challenge ourselves with interesting cuts,\u201d pointed out Hardik Dhonda. Stunning flame-shaped diamonds highlight their passion for the craft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Elvee Jewels, Surat-based wholesale silver, gold, diamond and coloured gemstone jewellery maker exhibited beautiful jewels at the exhibition. \u201cWe showcased 200+ pieces at the JCK 2022 show and had an overwhelming response from the buyers. The show gave us an opportunity to explore and meet buyers in person besides enabling us to better understand the international market and jewellery trends,\u201d noted Elvee\u2019s Director Kalpeshkumar Vaghasiya<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Elvee\u2019s minimalist wearables, designed in-house by their team of designers, drew on nature, architecture, geometry and abstract elements and light weight. The De Stijl collection consists of toggle bracelets, studs, pendant necklaces, and rings. \u201cThe geometric elements set in 2D accented with ceramic created a 3D illusion.\u201d The Promise collection of bridal rings had eternity bands set with a line of diamonds and solitaires, infinity motifs and knot shapes, while the Sui Dhaga (\u2018needle and thread\u2019) line had great pick-me up options. Red metallic heart charm punctuated with a diamond and link bracelets were other stylish pieces designed by Elvee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aditya Bhadani, Sales Manager of R. Rajesh Exports said they exhibited in 2019 and had come back to the show in the hopes of strengthening their business. \u201cThis year, we are seeing a high demand for fancy traditional cut diamonds such as pear cuts, marquise cut and oval cuts. Additionally, our .50 to .70 cent brilliant-cut diamonds did quite well. Very small fancy cut diamonds are also being sought-after.\u201d They cut specific fancy shapes only based on orders from buyers, especially since marquis is one of the most expensive fancy-cut shapes, he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Paladiya Brothers showcased certified and uncertified natural diamonds in ovals and round shapes, alongside elongated ovals. \u201cWe sold most of them,\u201d said Jemish Paladiya, Assistant Manager. \u201cIn the midst of covid, the show provided us a good opportunity.
