The Jewellery skill is evaluated on the basis of crafting gold and other precious metals and gemstones, using a variety of techniques to create fashion accessories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Subhasis scored a total of 708 points, placing 6<sup>th<\/sup> in the overall competition. Participants from Iran, Korea and the UK won the gold, silver and bronze awards respectively in the Jewellery category. Contestants from France, Japan and Switzerland were the three other recipients of the Medallion for Excellence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gem &amp; Jewellery Skill Council of India (GJSCI), along with industry partners, trains representatives for the WorldSkills jewellery competitions. After completing his higher secondary education, Subhasis had joined the South India heritage jewellery house, VBJ in Chennai, for jewellery training.
