Gemological Institute of America (GIA) is revamping the GIA Graduate Jeweler program in collaboration with master goldsmith and award-winning jewellery designer Alan Revere, who built an award-winning collection of designer jewellery in the 1980s and 1990s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A past president of the American Jewelry Design Council, Revere directed and taught at his school in San Francisco for 40 years, educating thousands of jewellers and designers on quality craftsmanship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Duncan Pay, GIA\u2019s Senior Vice President of Education and Chief Academic Officer, said. \u201cThe GIA team is delighted to welcome Mr. Revere\u2019s expertise and experience to collaborate on the Graduate Jeweler program. I can\u2019t imagine a better alliance between the strongest players in contemporary American jewellery education.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The revised GIA Graduate Jeweler program will integrate many of the successful aspects of Revere\u2019s well-known Revere Academy of Jewelry Arts, focusing on bench skills as the foundation for preparing graduates to enter the jewellery industry. The program will be based on a series of projects designed to develop creativity and the application of traditional jewellery making skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
