The Dholakia Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Hari Krishna Export Pvt. Ltd., hosted a Check Dam foundation stone laying ceremony for the \ufb01rst \ufb01ve key lakes at Luvariya, Gujarat. The event was graced by the 14th President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind, and the Governor of Gujarat, Shri Acharya Devvrat, along with more than 30 esteemed 2022 Padma Awardees, guests, and local villagers.<\/p>\n
The \ufb01ve lakes for which the foundations were laid include De Beers Lake, Signet Inspire Love Lake, Helzberg Lake, UN 2023 Water Conference Lake, and the Watches & Jewellery Initiative 2030 Lake. The construction of these check dams is aimed at improving water management in the region and addressing long-term water security issues.<\/p>\n
With the construction of these lakes, the Foundation aims to enhance water conservation efforts in the region, ensuring a more sustainable water supply for the local population and improving the overall ecosystem. This project will bene\ufb01t not only the people residing in the area but also the agriculture sector and wildlife, as it will help recharge groundwater and provide a stable source of water for irrigation and natural habitats.<\/p>\n
Savji Dholakia, Founder & Chairman, Hari Krishna Exports, expressed gratitude to the unwavering support of local authorities and villagers, and was thankful for the acknowledgement by the United Nations through special accreditation for the UN 2023 Water Conference in New York.<\/p>\n
