The GJEPC Regional Office in Kolkata, in collaboration with the District Industries Centre (DIC), Howrah, the Government of West Bengal, and the Ankurhati Gems & Jewellery Welfare Association, organised a workshop on jewellery export for beginners. The event, held at Howrah District in West Bengal, aimed to provide guidance to manufacturers and stakeholders of Ankurhati Gem & Jewelry Park, as well as manufacturers based in Howrah District, on the procedures and documentation required for exporting gems and jewellery products.<\/p>\n
The workshop, attended by representatives from approximately 35 companies, began with Pankaj Parekh, Eastern Regional Chairman, GJEPC providing an overview of the global scope and opportunities available in the gems and jewellery sector. He also shared insights on how to initiate jewellery export, including the necessary procedures and benefits for members of the GJEPC.<\/p>\n
Representatives from Yes Bank were present to enlighten attendees on how to obtain duty-free gold for jewellery export and the accompanying documentation requirements. Additionally, a representative from State Bank of India (SBI) briefed participants on the various financial support options available to exporters and manufacturers.<\/p>\n
Abhijit Bhattacharjee, General Manager of DIC, Howrah, informed the participants about the financial support provided by the state government in collaboration with SBI. These initiatives aim to benefit beginners and new entrants under the MSME scheme of the Government of West Bengal.<\/p>\n
