The gathering brought together influential industry leaders, designers, retailers, and dignitaries from the diamond industry, including esteemed guests from Botswana, such as the Honourable Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy, Lefoko Moagi.<\/p>\n<p>The primary focus of the event was to raise funds for educational and entrepreneurship grants that will empower young individuals residing in natural diamond communities worldwide. These grants aim to provide opportunities for the next generation, fostering their growth and development.<\/p>\n<p>Several distinguished individuals and organisations received recognition for their exceptional contributions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Val\u00e9rie Messika was awarded DDG&#8217;s NextGen Award for her innovative diamond jewellery designs, inspiring young people to take action and make a positive impact on the world.<\/li>\n<li>Rosy Blue received DDG&#8217;s Visionary Award, recognising their pioneering leadership as early adopters who incorporate social, environmental, economic, and ethical considerations into their corporate decision-making processes.<\/li>\n<li>Lorraine West was presented with DDG&#8217;s Inspiration Award, celebrating her talent, perseverance, and notable achievements in the diamond and jewellery industry.<\/li>\n<li>De Beers received DDG&#8217;s GOOD Award in recognition of their Building Forever initiative that is committed to creating lasting positive change in natural diamond communities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Al Cook, CEO, De Beers, said, \u201cI am delighted to accept this award on behalf of De Beers and on behalf of the communities, countries and customers that we are proud to call our partners.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe recipients of these awards reflect the importance of engaging community around the world,\u201d added DDG Co-Founder and Civil Rights Leader Dr. Benjamin Chavis, Jr.<\/p>\n<p>DDG President, Anna Martin, concurred: \u201cNow more than ever we need to reaffirm and share this commitment with consumers everywhere.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Diamonds Do Good (DDG), a non-profit organisation, honoured industry leaders who embody the principle that &#8216;Doing Good is Good Business&#8217; at an event held on the eve of the JCK Las Vegas opening.
