Gemfields\u2019\u00a0 high-end jewellery partners featured an array of stunning rings designed with the mining company\u2019s Mozambican rubies and Zambian emeralds at the recent celebrated event, \u00a0Journ\u00e9es de la Haute Joaillerie held at Couture Week in Paris. These captivating rings showcased the exquisite beauty of Gemfields’ gemstones, leaving a lasting impression on the attendees.<\/p>\n

A playful new collection of rings, featuring Gemfields\u2019 emeralds and rubies, was unveiled during the Journ\u00e9es de la Haute Joaillerie.<\/p>\n

Gemfields, a world-leading miner and marketer of coloured gemstones, \u00a0partnered with high-end jewellery designers who are similarly committed to transparency, legitimacy and integrity in the industry, and who recognise the show-stopping allure of coloured gemstones.<\/p>\n

Stunning pieces featuring Zambian emeralds and Mozambican rubies from Gemfields\u2019 Kagem and Montepuez mines debuted in Paris, held from 3rd to 5th July.<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s focus was on rings: from Bina Goenka\u2019s floral sparkler to Fehmida Lakhany\u2019s sleek design based on the Chinese concept of Yin and Yang, and ruby-focused pieces from the likes of AYA and Margery Hirschey, all seen for the first time at this moment in Paris.<\/p>\n

Fehmida Lakhany\u2019s ring features pear-shaped emeralds from Gemfields\u2019 Kagem emerald mine in Zambia, surrounded by diamonds in the contrasting shades of black and white: \u201ca reflection of the opposing but complementary forces of Yin and Yang in our modern lives\u201d. The piece, like all of the designer\u2019s work, was inspired by the simplicity of nature. \u201cThe conservation of our planet and wildlife is not only a business priority, but also a personal one for me,\u201d says Lakhany.<\/p>\n

Also influenced by nature \u2013 in this case, the foliage of winter \u2013 Bina Goenka\u2019s flowery ring uses pear-shaped Zambian emeralds and fire opal to stunning effect. \u201cWorking collaboratively with Gemfields is always a pleasure as we are aligned in our views towards sustainable and ethical mining,\u201d says the designer.<\/p>\n

GFG Jewellery by Nilufer went for a pixelated effect, combining emeralds and diamonds, and explaining: \u201cI chose Gemfields as a partner as I believe we all have a responsibility to give back.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAn emerald shines even when its value is unsaid,\u201d says House of Meraki founder Gargi Rathi, summing up the gemstone\u2019s subtle appeal. Zambian emeralds from Kagem were a natural fit for the striking ring that Rathi designed for Journ\u00e9es de la Haute Joaillerie, as she grew up in Zambia and was motivated to become a jeweller by the emeralds she saw being sold on the side of the road as a child.<\/p>\n

Mozambican rubies from Montepuez also played a starring role in the new range of rings, whose launch was perfectly timed with ruby the birthstone of July. Shachee Fine Jewellery\u2019s Floral Ruby Ring used them to evoke cherry blossom and hummingbirds, \u201cthe sweetness of nectar and romancing with the blooms\u201d.<\/p>\n

AYA\u2019s Three Stone Ruby Ring was simple and powerful. \u201cWe wanted to create something bold and easy to wear,\u201d says founder Chelsy Davy, adding: \u201cWe are proud to have Gemfields by our side, to ignite a deep love for colourful jewels in an ethical way.\u201d<\/p>\n

Faberg\u00e9\u2019s White Gold Diamond and Ruby Dragon Skeleton Ring from the Faberg\u00e9 x Game of Thrones capsule collection used a Mozambican ruby to depict fire coming from a dragon\u2019s mouth \u2013 a nod to the pivotal role these mythical creatures played in the series. The artist-jeweller\u2019s head<\/p>\n

designer says: \u201cThis ring is highly symbolic: a powerful dragon handcrafted from 18-karat white gold and set with white diamonds that wraps around the finger, metaphorically breathing fire and showing that the dragons are back and full of life.\u201d<\/p>\n
