ANKIT MALPANI – Jewelry by Art was\u00a0established in 2008 in Jaipur as a small production house\u00a0with a vision to create jewellery inspired by art. With an\u00a0uncompromising commitment to\u00a0perfection, his creations merge global aesthetics using vintage and contemporary techniques perfectly suited for today\u2019s generation.<\/p>\n

Malpani\u2019s one-of-a-kind pieces have been auctioned since 2013, and as a committed B2B supplier, he has been participating in national and international trade shows since the last decade. As for IIJS, he has been associated with the show for seven years and has seen a year-on-year growth for company.<\/p>\n

A strong proponent of environmentally friendly practices, his manufacturing unit operates on a sustainable model, partly powered by solar energy. Additionally, he actively promotes and encourages his clients to participate in the refurbishment and remodelling of old jewellery, thereby supporting the use of recycled gold. By embracing these eco-conscious approaches, he aims to minimise his company\u2019s environmental footprint and contribute to a greener, more sustainable future.<\/p>\n

A Commerce graduate and a Master\u2019s degree in Music, with specialisation in playing the table (percussion instrument), Ankit Malpani chose to join the jewellery industry as both his father and uncle were renowned exporters of precious and semi-precious gemstones.<\/p>\n

Being an artist, he was searching for the right expression of creativity and so, learned manual jewellery designing at the Jewellery Product Development Centre, affiliated to GJEPC,\u00a0and later learned the art of manufacturing from the Jewellery Design & Technology Institute.<\/p>\n

After gaining experience at Gem Plaza, one of Jaipur’s leading high-end jewellery\u00a0manufacturers and exporters, he started his own company.<\/p>\n

How has IIJS helped your company grow? <\/strong><\/p>\n

IIJS is the most coveted among all B2B exhibitions happening in India across all regions. There has been no\u00a0dearth\u00a0of\u00a0quality\u00a0buyers and art\u00a0connoisseurs in this show. We have been exhibiting since the last seven years, and year-on-year, we have been surprised by the marvellous\u00a0response and ever-growing footfalls.<\/p>\n

As an artist who transitioned into the realm of jewellery design and manufacturing, our collections have garnered significant acclaim, earning us a substantial amount of business from prospective B2B partners worldwide. This success can be attributed to the extensive reach of our showcased jewellery, facilitated by our extensive network of connections.<\/p>\n

What are the ongoing trends?<\/strong><\/p>\n

This show is so big that almost all types of jewellery is displayed here. Since we\u00a0specialise in handcrafted fine jewellery, we expect that unique designs and modular pieces in the range of Rs. 100000 to Rs. 300000 will perform well.<\/p>\n

Tell us more about your ethical practices in your business operations.<\/strong><\/p>\n

We strictly adhere to the sustainable sourcing of diamonds and gold. As per the policy it is\u00a0mandatory for our gemstone dealers and vendors to provide\u00a0us clearly written\u00a0disclosures suggesting ethical and sustainable sourcing of the declared material.<\/p>\n

In fact, we also promote designing and manufacturing of custom-made jewellery to give remodel old\u00a0jewellery of our clients, as it helps in promoting the\u00a0usage\u00a0of recycled gold. We are partly using solar energy\u00a0in our production facility as well.<\/p>\n

My team of talented model makers, setters, and enamellers with decades of experiences in their respective hand art form ensure quality execution and prompt services.<\/p>\n

How do you perceive the current market scenario for the diamond industry? <\/strong><\/p>\n

There has been lot of price fluctuation and irregular supply trends in the natural diamond segment, which fortunately is gradually\u00a0stabilising. Growing usage of man-made diamonds has given more reasons to\u00a0celebrate the rarity of natural diamonds.<\/p>\n

How many collections do you bring out in a year?\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

For me, designing is a creative process. Instead of adhering to timelines and determine the number of collections I may produce annually, I focus on ideas and expressing them through sketches. Then I delve into the practical aspects of manufacturing and ensuring that the final product is wearable and functional.<\/p>\n

What kinds of crafts do you generally promote through your collections?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I love French enamel! We have been doing extraordinary work through fire enamel and created ombre effect in the most popular shades.
