The recently concluded Vicenzaoro Voice in September spotlighted on malachite, an\u00a0 opaque gemstone that comes in a multitude shades \u2013 from light, bright green to deep and dark green, sometimes bordering on black. Used as a pigment for centuries, the gemstone with its characteristic concentric bands found favour with ancient Egyptians, who wore it in their jewellery to protect themselves from negative energy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
