Faberg\u00e9, the world\u2019s most iconic artist jeweller, has partnered with Regent Seven Seas Cruises\u00ae, the world\u2019s leading luxury ocean cruise line, to produce a one-of-a-kind egg objet. The Faberg\u00e9 x Regent \u2018Journey in Jewels\u2019 Egg Objet is the pi\u00e8ce de r\u00e9sistance of Regent\u2019s1600-piece art collection now on display aboard its newest ship, Seven Seas Grandeur\u2122, and is the first Faberg\u00e9 egg to permanently reside at sea.<\/p>\n

Sarah Faberg\u00e9, Founding Member of the Faberg\u00e9 Heritage Council and great-granddaughter of Peter Carl Faberg\u00e9, was appointed by Regent as Godmother of Seven Seas Grandeur\u2122, and unveiled the \u2018Journey in Jewels\u2019 egg at the ship\u2019s christening ceremony in Miami, Florida in early December 2023.<\/p>\n

While Sarah performed her Godmother duties at the elegant and exclusive gala event, she wore bespoke Faberg\u00e9 x Regent Earrings and Ring, inspired by \u2018Journey in Jewels\u2019; these unique creations will be auctioned to raise funds for the Gemfields Foundation.<\/p>\n

As Godmother, Sarah Faberg\u00e9 will host a Faberg\u00e9 Spotlight Voyage aboard Seven Seas Grandeur\u2122, sailing 1st July 2024, enveloping luxury travellers into the world of Faberg\u00e9 with small group master-class programmes, exclusive access to unique and intimate shore-side tours, jewelled egg demonstrations and lectures and screenings.<\/p>\n

Crafted in England, the unique Faberg\u00e9 x Regent \u2018Journey in Jewels\u2019 is inspired by the seven seas that Regent\u2019s ships traverse and features an array of colourful gemstones which evoke the colours of the ocean, alongside guilloch\u00e9 enamel and ombre lacquering to represent not only the waters, but also the sunrises and sunsets witnessed aboard Regent\u2019s ships.<\/p>\n

Designed by Liisa Tallgren, Faberg\u00e9\u2019s Head of Design, and overseen by Josina von dem Bussche-Kessell, Faberg\u00e9\u2019s Creative Director, the Faberg\u00e9 x Regent \u2018Journey in Jewels\u2019 Egg Objet has been crafted using time-honoured techniques, with the production of the piece overseen by Faberg\u00e9 Workmaster, Paul Jones, at his workshop in southern England. Jones was also responsible for the creation of the Faberg\u00e9 x Game of Thrones and Faberg\u00e9 x Rolls-Royce Motor Cars egg objets. The complete journey from sketch to final creation for \u2018Journey in Jewels\u2019 has taken a year and a half to come to fruition.<\/p>\n

The Egg Objet<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The outer \u2018shell\u2019 of the egg has been enamelled in an ombre of blues, representative of the colours of the sea. This \u2018shell\u2019 consists of seven intricate blades which, just like a wave, each break into a \u2018sea foam\u2019 of pearls and white diamonds at the tips in a truly extraordinary aesthetic feat.<\/p>\n

The majestic egg sits upon a plinth adorned with emeralds, tsavorites, blue sapphires and white diamonds, set in Faberg\u00e9\u2019s \u2018Emotion\u2019 pav\u00e9 style, with colourful gems specially chosen to evoke the colours of the ocean. This gem-set plinth is anchored to a stand which reflects layers of waves accented with pearls and diamonds at the edges; this design element is more geometric and symmetrical in a nod to the helm of Seven Seas Grandeur\u2122.<\/p>\n

As with all Faberg\u00e9 eggs, there is more than meets the eye. By rotating the pearl \u2018helm\u2019 anti-clockwise, the seven blades, a number specially chosen to represent the \u2018seven seas\u2019, delicately open in unison to reveal a surprise hidden within.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
