Pandora, a leading jewellery brand, has initiated the construction of a state-of-the-art crafting facility in Vietnam. The $150 million investment in Binh Duong Province marks a pivotal expansion for Pandora, as it is set to be its first manufacturing site outside Thailand.<\/p>\n
The groundbreaking ceremony, held 40km north of Ho Chi Minh City, was graced by dignitaries from the Danish and Vietnamese governments, reflecting the strong bilateral ties and shared commitment to environmental sustainability. The facility, sprawling over 7.5 hectares, is designed to produce 60 million pieces of jewellery annually, thereby increasing Pandora\u2019s production capacity by 50% and creating 7,000 jobs.<\/p>\n
Alexander Lacik, CEO and President of Pandora, expressed his enthusiasm for the new chapter in Vietnam, emphasising the strategic importance of the facility in meeting the growing global demand for Pandora\u2019s products. \u201cWe are thankful for all the support we have received from the Vietnamese government, and we look forward to this long-term partnership.\u201d<\/p>\n
The crafting centre will operate entirely on renewable energy and exclusively using recycled silver and gold. It aims to align with LEED Gold standards, contributing to Pandora\u2019s ambitious goal to halve carbon emissions by 2030 and achieve net-zero by 2040.<\/p>\n
The event also highlighted the economic benefits for the local community, with the creation of 7,000 jobs and comprehensive training programs to develop skilled craftspeople.<\/p>\n
