This announcement follows recent amendments to the import policy for certain jewellery items.<\/p>\n<p>The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce &amp; Industry, in its Policy Circular No. 05\/2024-25, dated 13th June 2024, addressed to all Customs Authorities, RAs of DGFT, and members of the Trade &amp; Industry, has clarified the procedures following the reclassification of certain jewellery items under the ITC (HS) Codes 71131912, 71131913, 71131914, 71131915, and 71131960 from &#8220;Free&#8221; to &#8220;Restricted&#8221; category. This change was officially notified in Notification no. 17\/2024-25 on 11th June 2024.<\/p>\n<p>The DGFT has clarified that the re-import of unsold jewellery exported for exhibitions under the aforementioned ITC (HS) codes will be permitted by Customs authorities without requiring import licenses.
