Unlike other CIBJO committees focused on standards and nomenclature, the Technology Committee serves as a think tank, examining the potential implications of emerging technologies on the jewellery industry. Its members, including Thomas Baillod, David Block, Mahiar Borhanjoo, Elle Hill, Daniel Nyfeler, and Emmanuel Piat, contribute to this exploratory effort.<\/p>\n
Historically, jewellery industry technology advancements centred on automated systems to improve efficiency in mining, rough processing, and manufacturing. However, today\u2019s focus has shifted towards the downstream distribution chain.<\/p>\n
