Rio Tinto\u2019s second Beyond Rare\u2122 Tender, titled \u201cColour Awakened,\u201d has concluded with resounding success. The collection showcased 76 exquisite diamonds, including rare pink, red, and violet diamonds from the Argyle diamond mine, alongside white and yellow diamonds from the Diavik diamond mine in Canada. A highlight of the tender was the inclusion of seven Old Masters, historic diamonds from the Argyle mine.<\/p>\n
The tender attracted global interest, with 12 successful bidders from Australia, Europe, Japan, Hong Kong, the Middle East, Singapore, and North America. Sinead Kaufman, Chief Executive of Rio Tinto Minerals said \u201cThe continued strong global interest in highly collectible natural coloured diamonds and the resulting value creation, reflects their stature as works of art to be treasured for future generations.\u201d<\/p>\n
One of the most coveted lots, a 4.04-carat pure white diamond from Diavik paired with two rare violet diamonds from Argyle, has been entrusted to Danish luxury jeweller Hartmanns. Hartmanns will collaborate with Argyle Pink Diamonds Icon Partner\u2122 Glajz to create an heirloom piece.<\/p>\n
Renowned US jeweller J FINE, a specialist in coloured diamonds, was also among the successful bidders. Jordan Fine, the owner, highlighted the strong market demand for rare, natural coloured diamonds with impeccable provenance.<\/p>\n
