Policies and Industry Collaboration Key to Growth"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Mr. Sabyasachi Ray, Executive Director, GJEPC, highlighted the critical role of mining and manufacturing in India\u2019s gem and jewellery sector during his address at the CII Gems and Jewellery Conference. The conference, themed \u201cMining &amp; Manufacturing to Markets &amp; Economy,\u201d is being held in New Delhi today 6th December.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Ray lauded the government&#8217;s proactive stance in promoting the gem and jewellery sector, citing key initiatives such as the Indo-UAE CEPA, Indo-Australian ECTA, and Indo-European TEPA. He emphasised GJEPC&#8217;s crucial role in bringing these policies to fruition, thereby opening new markets and boosting exports.<\/p>\n<p>The GJEPC Executive Director also shed light on the Council&#8217;s active engagement with the government to align the new definition of a &#8216;diamond&#8217; with India&#8217;s consumer laws. By leading consultations with the Consumer Affairs Ministry, GJEPC ensured that the new definition aligns with industry standards and consumer interests. Mr. Ray expressed gratitude to the Secretary, Department of Consumer Affairs, Smt.
