The meeting aimed to foster dialogue and address key challenges faced by the gem and jewellery industry.<\/p>\n<p>Representing GJEPC were Shri Vipul Shah, Chairman; Shri Kirit Bhansali, Vice Chairman; Shri Ajesh Mehta, Convener, Diamond Panel; Shri Shaunak Parikh, Convener, Banking Insurance &amp; Taxation; Shri Milan Chokshi, Convener, PM&amp;BD; and Shri Sabyasachi Ray, Executive Director.<\/p>\n<p>During the discussions, GJEPC leadership highlighted several critical issues affecting the sector and sought practical solutions to enhance ease of doing business.<\/p>\n<p>Key topics of discussion included:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Facilitating the hand-carriage of gems and jewellery through all ports.<\/li>\n<li>Extending tolerance limits on cut and polished diamonds sent on consignment.<\/li>\n<li>Establishing a standard operating procedure (SOP) for the reimport of jewellery for repair and subsequent re-export.<\/li>\n<li>RMS facility for G &amp; J products for exports.<\/li>\n<li>Difficulty faced with exports of Lab-Grown CPD<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The meeting underscored the need for collaborative efforts between the industry and the customs department to create a more supportive business environment.
