At IGJS Jaipur 2025, renowned Italian designer Alessio Boschi<\/strong>, the creative force behind his eponymous brand Alessio Boschi Jewels, could be seen in his element \u2014 seated at exhibitor booths, pencil in hand, sketching bespoke jewellery pieces on the spot. Surrounded by hand-carved colour gemstones and deep in discussion with gemstone suppliers, Alessio turned the show floor into a live design studio, blending Indian inspiration with his signature Italian flair.<\/em><\/p>\n

What brought you to IGJS Jaipur?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I was invited to this amazing show and planned to stay just a couple of hours \u2013 I had a packed schedule. But I\u2019ve already spent five hours here, which tells you how special this show really is.<\/p>\n

Do you often work with Indian jewellery manufacturers?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I don\u2019t source finished jewellery from India, but I do source gemstones. I design my own pieces and manufacture them between Thailand and Italy, selling globally. But India plays a key role \u2013 I\u2019ve always sourced stones from here.<\/p>\n

Has Indian style influenced your design language?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Absolutely. Since I was a young designer, Mughal art and kundan meena work have inspired me. The polki settings, the hidden beauty on the backs of pieces \u2013 they deeply influenced what became the Alessio Boschi style. Now I combine that with Italian craftsmanship. It\u2019s a Mughal base, reimagined through an Italian lens.<\/p>\n

What is your impression of IGJS Jaipur compared to bigger international shows?<\/strong><\/p>\n

These smaller, curated shows often offer more value. They\u2019re quieter, more personal \u2013 you get to talk directly to people. I had three important meetings in just one hour here. I couldn\u2019t move from one stall for over an hour because I was captivated by the emeralds. You find rare stones and genuine connections.<\/p>\n

How important is ethical sourcing to you?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Very. Our industry has its share of issues \u2013 blood diamonds, unethical mining. That\u2019s why I appreciate India. The business culture here aligns with my values. There\u2019s transparency, integrity, and a shared commitment to sustainability. That human empathy is the foundation of good business.<\/p>\n

What does visiting Jaipur mean to you as a designer?<\/strong><\/p>\n

It feels like coming home. Jaipur is a dream for any designer \u2013 the handcraftsmanship, the Mughal influences, the most beautifully carved stones in the world. It\u2019s paradise.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
