The Warsaw-born former model had already reinvented herself once, swapping runways for a nutrition-consultancy practice, yet something still felt missing. By Meluzza<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Scouted at 13 years of age, Paula spent a decade modelling while peers wrote essays and were swamped with assignments. Later, degrees in nutrition science and public health proved she was more than a pretty face, yet jewellery designing offered her the ideal synthesis of intellect, craft and emotion. By Meluzza<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>She favours 18-karat yellow gold, materials \u201cin their natural state,\u201d along with platinum for its frosty strength; she is, however, open to using white gold when technically required.<\/p>\n<p>Expect future pieces to feature alexandrite, rare garnets and other colour-shifting stones. By Meluzza<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Meluzza\u2019s debut capsule lines translate Paula\u2019s nomadic memories into vivid gems: The collection<strong> Endless Summer<\/strong> displays watermelon-bright sapphires and pistachio hued demantoids from Madagascar strewn across wavy rings that remind you of sun-drenched afternoons; while <strong>Playful Cherries<\/strong> emerges as a riff on a girlhood game, draping vivid rhodolite \u201cfruit\u201d beneath tsavorite leaves for a wink of irreverence. \u201cI always played with the double cherries, placing them against my ear, and pretending they were earrings,\u201d she shares, elaborating on her inspiration. As girls, Paula and her sister scoured their grandmother\u2019s garden each 1<sup>st<\/sup> of May for birthday bouquets; the flowers heralded both celebration and impending summer. \u201cNo matter how chilly spring felt, the flowers always bloomed on time. They meant celebration \u2014 and that summer was just around the corner,\u201d she remembers. The collection translates that optimism into 18-karat yellow gold and platinum: gleaming blossoms and rows of crisp white pearls punctuated with lily-bud caps \u2014 airy ear climbers tracing the helix; dainty ring and bracelet where pearls \u2018blossom.\u2019 Beauty here is not passive ornament but protective power, notes the designer.
