Jewelers of America (JA) and the Manufacturing Jewelers and Suppliers of America (MJSA) are joining forces through a new affiliation agreement that will reshape the U.S. jewellery industry. The decision, approved by both boards and ratified by MJSA members in April, will bring MJSA under the JA umbrella to unify the industry\u2019s manufacturing and retail sectors.<\/p>\n
This strategic alignment will also enable both associations to bolster their member benefits; streamline connections between designers, manufacturers, and retailers; and leverage their joint strengths to address the industry’s most pressing issues.<\/p>\n
Edward DeCristofaro, chair of the MJSA board, said, \u201cThe traditional lines dividing manufacturers and retailers have disappeared\u2014both sides now face many of the same challenges, as the recent tariffs have shown. Joining forces, especially in light of the industry’s consolidation over the years, will only strengthen our ability to advocate for our shared interests. Also, as more retailers continue to broaden their offerings to include everything from branded lines to custom designs, MJSA can provide a direct line to needed supplies, equipment, and expertise.\u201d<\/p>\n
JA Board Chair Coleman Clark echoed the sentiment, noting: \u201cWe are delighted to have MJSA under the Jewelers of America umbrella. Once finalised, this affiliation will provide members with an expanded list of membership benefits that connect the strengths of MJSA and Jewelers of America.
