Okavango Diamond Company (ODC), a Botswana-based rough diamond marketing company, and Debswana Diamond Company, one of the world\u2019s leading diamond producers, announced the onboarding of ODC\u2019s rough diamond supply onto Tracr, a blockchain-based platform.<\/p>\n
This marks a significant milestone in providing information on provenance for ODC\u2019s rough diamond supply. ODC, wholly owned by the Government of Botswana, plays a key role in offering independently marketed rough diamonds from the country\u2019s production to the global market.<\/p>\n
Owned by the Government of Botswana, ODC has begun registering rough diamonds sized 3\u20136 gr and 2\u201310 carats on Tracr since early 2025. This development greatly increases the global availability of traceable diamonds and provides buyers with immutable digital records of each diamond\u2019s journey.<\/p>\n
Debswana Diamond Company, a key supplier to ODC and joint venture between the Government of Botswana and De Beers Group, has played a pivotal role in supporting this transition by supplying vital production data for seamless onboarding.<\/p>\n
