Jeweller Michael Hill International Ltd., which operates 287 stores across Australia, New Zealand, and Canada, has announced the appointment of Jonathan Waecker as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective 27 August 2025.<\/p>\n
Waecker, a seasoned retail executive with global experience across brand, digital, customer experience, and transformation, has previously held leadership roles at The Walt Disney Company, Yahoo, and The Warehouse Group, where he served as Chief Customer & Sales Officer since 2017.<\/p>\n
Michael Hill Chair Rob Fyfe said the Board had conducted a rigorous global search before selecting Waecker. \u201cJonathan\u2019s global perspective, commercial acumen, digital experience, and customer-centric leadership approach align strongly with the company\u2019s strategic priorities. We are confident in his ability to guide Michael Hill into its next chapter of transformation and growth,\u201d Fyfe said.<\/p>\n
Waecker, who will relocate from Auckland to Brisbane for the role, said he was honoured to join the company. \u201cWith strong brand equity, a passionate team, and a loyal customer base across Australia, New Zealand, and Canada, I believe Michael Hill has all the ingredients to thrive,\u201d he noted.<\/p>\n
