After eight years as a gemmologist, he spent a year, he spent a year with a French company where his mentor recognised his flair for design and encouraged him to explore jewellery. A decade later, in 2018, he launched the Sankesh Surana Studio in Bengaluru, channeling his wide-ranging creativity into collections that blend craftsmanship, Indian heritage, and natural beauty.<\/p>\n
Over the years, his work has been guided by a deep appreciation for craftsmanship, Indian heritage, and natural inspirations, allowing him to create collections that speak to both culture and modern sensibilities.<\/p>\n
This festive season he unveils a collection inspired by the vibrant colours, rich traditions, and the diverse birdlife of India.<\/p>\n

Each piece reflects the joyous spirit of the season, while celebrating India\u2019s beauty of the country\u2019s landscapes and heritage crafts. The collection brings together textures, colours, and motifs rooted in nature and tradition, yet interpreted through a modern lens.<\/p>\n
Gemstones including tanzanite, coral, citrine, opal, pearls, and emeralds breathe life into the diamond-studded collection by adding vibrant colours and artistically recreating rich textures of birds, and adding depth to the designs while staying true to the palette inspired by nature.<\/p>\n Why birds? Surana reflects, \u201cBirds symbolise freedom, beauty, and diversity \u2014 qualities that perfectly align with the spirit of celebration. Their vibrant plumage, graceful forms, and dynamic presence inspired us to create pieces that reflect movement, joy, and the colourful traditions of India. This collection is a tribute to the harmony between nature and craftsmanship.\u201d<\/p>\n The collection took almost four months to bring from \u00a0concept to reality \u2014 from research and sketches to selecting materials and handcrafted with precision.
