The discussions held on the first day focused on enhancing and building upon the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), which came into force in May 2022.<\/p>\n
Since then, bilateral merchandise trade has nearly doubled, rising from USD 43.3 billion in FY2020-21 to USD 83.7 billion in FY2023-24. Gem and jewellery trade between the two nations increased from USD 20.88 billion in FY2022 to USD 28.15 billion in FY2024, a 35% rise.
