GJEPC successfully showcased the India Pavilion at the Jewellery & Gem World Hong Kong 2025, held from 15th to 19th September at AsiaWorld-Expo (AWE) and from 17th to 21st September at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre (CEC).<\/p>\n
This year, the India Pavilion featured 79 leading Indian exporters across 129 booths covering 1128 sqm, presenting the nation\u2019s finest offerings in loose diamonds, gemstones, and studded jewellery. Strategically spread across Hall 11 & 7 (AWE), Hall 10 (AWE), and Hall 3C (CEC), the Pavilion enabled global buyers to experience India\u2019s unparalleled craftsmanship and product diversity first-hand.<\/p>\n
Commenting on the event\u2019s success, Mr. Kirit Bhansali, Chairman, GJEPC, noted, \u201cIndia\u2019s overall gem and jewellery exports to Hong Kong had recorded an impressive 60.51% growth in August 2025, reaching USD 448.93 million, with cut and polished diamond exports surging 64.14% to USD 291.95 million. The response at JGW Hong Kong validated this trend, as Indian exhibitors engaged with global buyers, gained valuable insights into market sentiment, and further strengthened India\u2019s position as a trusted sourcing hub.\u201d<\/p>\n
Indian exhibitors were out in force at the show, participating in the India pavilion, organised by GJEPC; or showcasing their goods independently of the India Pavilion in the specialist areas, such as the leading polished diamond suppliers, whose discussions centred on the latest gold price peaks and the challenges triggered by the 50% tariff on Indian exports to the United States, the world\u2019s largest economy.<\/p>\n
At the India Pavilion, Renaissance Global presented an array of very lightweight gold rings, responding to the impact of surging bullion prices.<\/p>\n
In the diamond area, Devansh Shah, partner of Venus Jewel, a leading supplier of polished diamonds, spoke of firm demand for larger diamonds, of two carats or higher, notably fancy shapes, in part due to their rarity.<\/p>\n
India\u2019s strong showing at JGW Hong Kong 2025 underscored GJEPC\u2019s broader vision to position the country as a global leader in gems and jewellery. The Council has built a robust portfolio of international initiatives, including the India Jewellery Exposition Centre (IJEX) in Dubai, the International Gem & Jewellery Show (IGJS) in Dubai and Jaipur, the newly launched Saudi Arabia Jewellery Exposition (SAJEX 2025), and the flagship India International Jewellery Show (IIJS) in Mumbai and Bengaluru.<\/p>\n
GJEPC also continues to organise India Pavilions at leading global trade shows such as VicenzaOro and Hong Kong, in addition to hosting focused Buyer-Seller Meets (BSMs) to connect Indian manufacturers with international demand.<\/p>\n
