As a former fashion editor-turned-designer, how has your editorial eye shaped the way you build collections and tell stories through\u00a0jewellery?<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

My editor<\/span>\u2019<\/span>s eye has\u00a0mainly trained\u00a0me to\u00a0think outside the box.\u00a0In a world of\u00a0standardised\u00a0fashion, I had to free\u00a0myself from what I had learned \u2014 to step away from trends and uniformity.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I took a different path.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

You describe\u00a0jewellery\u00a0as something that\u00a0\u201ccarries all the sentiment we wish to hand down to the next generation.\u201d\u00a0Can you share a specific moment when you\u00a0witnessed\u00a0one of your pieces becoming an heirloom for someone?<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

My brand is still in its early chapters.\u00a0I\u00a0haven<\/span>\u2019<\/span>t\u00a0yet had the privilege of\u00a0witnessing\u00a0one of my creations being passed down from one generation to the next.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>But\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0 I\u00a0have<\/span>already\u00a0seen how deeply people connect with their ML\u00a0jewellery\u00a0\u2014 how these pieces become part of their stories, their daily lives, their memories.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

And I have no doubt that, over time,\u00a0they<\/span>\u2019<\/span>ll\u00a0continue to carry these pieces with them through every stage of life.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The\u00a0for<\/span><\/b>\u00e7<\/span><\/b>at\u00a0chain from your mother sparked your entire journey. How does that symbolism of freedom continue to influence your design philosophy today?<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The\u00a0for<\/span>\u00e7<\/span>at\u00a0chain is also a beautiful symbol of\u00a0emancipation.\u00a0I hold onto one guiding principle \u2014 to remain free and true to myself, no matter what comes my way.\u00a0This rule applies to my creative process as well.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Despite commercial pressure, the rising cost of materials, and everything else that comes with this industry, I hold on to my freedom\u00a0\u2026\u00a0the freedom to create beyond the boundaries and expectations imposed upon us.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Your work blends\u00a0influence\u00a0from Martinique, India, Catholic iconography, and pop culture. How do you decide which cultural or symbolic elements belong together in a single piece?\u00a0<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

There are no decisions, only instinct.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

You’re\u00a0drawn to Indian crafts across the arts. What was your first impression of the country, and how has India’s artistry and culture shaped your design language over time? Do you work with Indian artisans?<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In my early days in\u00a0jewellery, India played\u00a0a significant role\u00a0in shaping my vision. I was fascinated by\u00a0the\u00a0Kundan technique,\u00a0the art of\u00a0enamelling\u00a0on 24-karat\u00a0gold.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

There\u2019s\u00a0something completely unleashed, with no limits, in Indian\u00a0jewellery\u00a0craftsmanship \u2014 an incredible sense of extreme beauty, maximalism, poetry, and spirituality.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I still collaborate with wonderful Indian artisans on\u00a0very specific\u00a0pieces.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Over the past six years,\u00a0we\u2019ve\u00a0embraced the idea of blending craftsmanship from all over the world \u2014 Italy, France, the US, Thailand, and Germany \u2014 to make our creations even more unique and distinctive.<\/span><\/p>\n

You collaborate with “some of the most highly skilled craftspeople in the world”\u2014from the Italian craftsmen behind the Magic Ball necklace to your partnership with Mattel. How do such collaborations influence and expand your creative vision?<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Working with great masters is one of the most beautiful gifts this profession has to offer.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Collaborating with the best pushes you to surpass yourself in terms of design.\u00a0Above all, it\u00a0allows you to keep learning endlessly and to expand the limits of your own mind.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

These are the people who make me\u00a0grow.\u00a0They are the true guides of this craft.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The back of your pendants receives as much\u00a0attention as the front. Why is this commitment to hidden beauty important to you, even when no one else might see it?<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This is a beautiful question. Beauty is my way of healing myself from severe traumas.\u00a0It<\/span>\u2019<\/span>s\u00a0my path of resilience.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Your secular scapulars reimagine traditional Catholic\u00a0jewellery\u00a0with four-leaf clovers, rockets, and psychedelic motifs. What drives your interest in transforming sacred symbols and making them universally accessible?\u00a0Which symbol or motif in your collections has resonated most unexpectedly with your clients, and why do you think that is?<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

To me, the most important thing in life is to believe in something greater than\u00a0ourselves.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

It can be a higher being, an energy, or simply anything that gives a deeper meaning to our existence.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In challenging times,\u00a0like the ones the world is facing today,\u00a0I believe that a touch of spirituality, or dream, whatever name we give it, can bring comfort.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Sometimes,\u00a0it<\/span>\u2019<\/span>s\u00a0enough to take refuge in simple things\u00a0\u2026\u00a0objects that carry joy, tenderness, and a quiet sense of solace.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I believe the idea of\u202fjewellery\u00a0as\u00a0heirloom\u202fis transforming.\u00a0It\u2019s\u00a0no longer\u00a0just about passing\u00a0down a physical object, but about transmitting emotion, intention, and spirit.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
