{"id":34151,"date":"2025-11-26T11:56:07","date_gmt":"2025-11-26T06:26:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/gjepc.org\/solitaire\/?p=34151"},"modified":"2025-11-26T11:56:07","modified_gmt":"2025-11-26T06:26:07","slug":"gjepc-voices-sector-priorities-at-board-of-trade-meeting-in-new-delhi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gjepc.org\/solitaire\/gjepc-voices-sector-priorities-at-board-of-trade-meeting-in-new-delhi\/","title":{"rendered":"GJEPC Voices Sector Priorities at Board of Trade Meeting in New Delhi"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>At the fourth meeting of the reconstituted Board of Trade (BoT) held in New Delhi on 25<sup>th<\/sup> November, Mr. Shaunak Parikh, Vice Chairman, GJEPC, and Mr. Sabyasachi Ray, Executive Director, GJEPC, joined industry leaders and policymakers for discussions led by Shri Piyush Goyal, Hon\u2019ble Minister of Commerce &amp; Industry.<\/p>\n<p>The GJEPC leadership also interacted with Shri Rajesh Aggarwal, Commerce Secretary, during the meeting, which focused on India\u2019s export momentum, the economic outlook, and the government\u2019s ongoing push to strengthen the country\u2019s global trade position.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Parikh thanked the Minister for launching the Export Promotion Mission and for placing the gem and jewellery sector in the priority list. He noted the upcoming EU and G7 requirements that call for full traceability of diamonds from January 2026. He urged the Ministry to recommend extending the implementation timeline to at least July 2026, or until global standards, guidelines and pilot systems are finalised.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Parikh also raised concerns about restrictions on gold, silver and platinum alloy and jewellery imports.
