GJEPC launched the PM Vishwakarma training programme in Hupari, Kolhapur, Maharashtra, to boost artisan skills and the export potential of one of India\u2019s largest silver jewellery manufacturing clusters.<\/p>\n
Implemented through GJEPC\u2019s Indian Institute of Gems & Jewellery (IIGJ), the initiative will provide specialised training to artisans, with the training cost being borne by the Government of India under the PM Vishwakarma scheme.<\/p>\n
The first training batch has successfully commenced with 40 registered candidates. The launch event also drew participation from an additional 20 attendees, underlining growing awareness and interest in the scheme among the local artisan community.<\/p>\n
The initiative is expected to play an important role in strengthening the skills of traditional karigars and craftspeople in Hupari, a cluster known for its rich silver craftsmanship.
