The third edition of the ICC Diamond Conclave 2026 was held on 29 \u00a0September in Kolkata, under the theme \u201cIndia Shining \u2013 Grow with Diamonds.\u201d The conclave was organised by the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC), with GJEPC as Co-Partner of the 7th ICC Gems & Jewellery Summit 2026.<\/p>\n
The programme brought together industry leaders and experts for discussions on the future of India\u2019s diamond and jewellery sector, with a focus on strengthening the country\u2019s position across the global value chain.<\/p>\n
Shri Swapan Dasgupta, Hon\u2019ble Finance Minister, Govt. of West Bengal, addressed the conclave, speaking about the diamond industry\u2019s role in India\u2019s economic and cultural landscape. He highlighted West Bengal\u2019s craftsmanship and entrepreneurial capabilities and the potential for the state to participate more strongly in the global diamond value chain.<\/p>\n
The Minister also spoke about the importance of innovation, ethical practices and sustainable growth, while outlining the government\u2019s focus on an industry-friendly policy environment.<\/p>\n
Addressing the Conclave, Shri Kirit Bhansali, Chairman, GJEPC, highlighted India\u2019s global leadership in diamond manufacturing, built over decades through manufacturing excellence, skilled manpower and the trust of buyers worldwide.<\/p>\n
Bhansali emphasised the need for the industry to move further up the value chain through finished jewellery, design, craftsmanship and branding, enabling Indian businesses to capture greater value and strengthen their presence in international markets.<\/p>\n
