Star jewellery designer Elsa Peretti, who had worked with Tiffany & Co. since 1974, died from natural causes on 18th March in Spain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Elsa\u2019s relationship with style and the natural world was profoundly personal and strongly reflected in her creations,\u201d Tiffany said in a statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Peretti\u2019s eponymous foundation said she had always been inspired by nature \u2013 a bean, a bone, an apple could be transformed into cufflinks, bracelets, vases or lighters, scorpions and snakes were turned into appealing necklaces and rings, often in silver which was one of her preferred materials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Peretti herself stated: \u201cThere is no new design, because good lines and shapes are timeless,\u201d and indeed her pieces are as modern and wearable today as they ever were, the foundation added. She believed that taking care of and protecting our planet is a duty of all of humanity.
