Gem & Jewellery Skill Council of India (GJSCI) launched the Jewellery Artificial Intelligence & Data-science Excellence (JADE) initiative in a virtual ceremony on 30th November, 2020. JADE is a Center of Excellence for artificial intelligence focusing on the gems and jewellery industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Chief Guest was Prof Subhasis Chaudhuri, Director, IIT Bombay and the Guest of Honor was Shri Manish Kumar, MD & CEO, National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC). <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sanjay Kothari, Chairman, GJSCI, said, \u201cThe launch of JADE is indeed a historical event where two of the country\u2019s largest industries i.e. the gems & jewellery industry and the IT Industry are coming together on a common platform to solve the industry challenges using state-of-the-art Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Data Science technologies. The entire gems and jewellery industry has willingly offered its support towards this endeavour; a technological leap towards a better and brighter future.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
GJSCI believes the AI-focused initiative will help the largely traditional industry in dealing with challenges like minimising rejections and poor hit ratio of designs, high market returns, etc. This Centre of Excellence will help find solutions for the industry at large and individual units as well. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
This unique initiative is a culmination of extensive effort done over the year by GJSCI in association with various organisations and experts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
