At Emerald Jewels, we aim to provide quality healthcare to the needy people<\/p>Mr K Srinivasan<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The company has its origin dating back to 1984 as a proprietorship firm in the name of Emerald Jewellers. On 27 July 2004, a private limited company was incorporated under the name of Emerald Jewel Industry India Pvt. Ltd., which subsequently took over the various group concerns such as Emerald Jewellers, Emerald Jewel Creators, Emerald Jewel Tech, etc., under its fold. In 2006, another three subsidiary companies were launched. The company was converted into a Public Limited Company on 20.12.2007.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The group is involved in design, development, production and distribution of a wide spectrum of jewellery. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

They have a centralized marketing office in Mumbai, which looks after the entire marketing activities of the group. Emerald exports its products to the UK, USA, Middle East, Far East and New Zealand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CSR Initiatives <\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The company has adopted the following objectives as part of its CSR activities: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The paediatric ward functions with 100% occupancy and optimum utilization<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Promoting education:<\/strong> As part of the CSR initiative, Emerald promotes education, including special education and employmentenhancing vocation skills, especially among children, women, elderly and the differently abled. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eradicating poverty:<\/strong> One of their other main objective is eradicating hunger, poverty and malnutrition, and promoting preventive healthcare and sanitation, and making available safe drinking water. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Promoting gender equality: <\/strong>Another objective is promoting gender equality, empowering women, setting up homes and hostels for women and orphans. They are also into setting up old age homes, day care centres and such other facilities for senior citizens and measures for reducing inequalities faced by socially and economically backward groups. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Protecting environment: <\/strong>They help in ensuring environmental sustainability, ecological balance, protection of flora and fauna, animal welfare, agroforestry, conservation of natural resources and maintaining quality of soil, air and water. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Promoting sports:<\/strong> Emerald helps in promoting rural sports, nationally recognized sports, paralympic sports and Olympic sports. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Promotion of national heritage, art and culture: <\/strong>The company is into promotion of national heritage, art and culture, including restoration of buildings and sites of historical importance and works of arts; promotion and development of traditional arts and handicrafts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Donating for medical relief: <\/strong>They have made donations for medical relief to needy people for cancer treatment, regular medical expenses, critical surgery, etc., through Krishna Charitable Trust. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Funding old age homes: <\/strong>Emerald has contributed to Vasavi Muthiyor Illam for funding old age homes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Donation for flood relief: <\/strong>As a good corporate citizen, they have been directly involved in flood relief activities during the Gaja cyclone in Tamil Nadu and during the Kerala floods. They distributed basic necessities such as food, bedsheets, clothes and other necessary items to the people of the affected area, and their employees directly participated in the rescue activities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Promotion of preventive healthcare and sanitation: <\/strong>Work for the promotion of preventive healthcare and sanitation through direct contribution for implementation of solid waste management have been taken up in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Construction of water tank:<\/strong> Construction of water tank for storing safe drinking water has been done in Coimbatore. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
