People who care about environment and health have been worried about how to dispose of plastic once it\u2019s been used. It can take up to 700 years for just one plastic bottle to break down in a process called biodegrading. Throwing away plastic also hurts the environment in other ways. For the disposal of the plastic waste, AVR Swarna Mahal has installed plastic bottle recycling machines at Salem bus terminal. Whoever puts their empty plastic bottle in the machine will get RO drinking water, mobile phone charging facility and some coupons for free. This has reduced the pet bottle garbage in a massive way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Water purification RO plant installed at Salem bus terminal:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The Salem bus terminals one of the busiest bus terminals in Salem with an overall capacity of one lakh passengers daily. Drinking water is the main problem faced here. So, AVR Swarna Mahal has installed an RO plant with a capacity of 1,500 litres. This project has been a huge success and people are availing the services for the past four years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Bus terminal wall beautification:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The walls of the bus terminal in Salem were damaged and untidy. AVR Swarna Mahal helped in rectifying the walls and also carried out artistic drawings of natural sceneries on the walls with the help of Salem City Municipal Corporation. After the completion of the project, it drew a lot of praise by everyone. This is the first of its kind programme in cities like Salem, Attur and Kallakurichi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Automated sweeping, cleaning and maintenance of bus terminal:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n With the Swachh Bharat campaign, cleanliness is becoming an important factor for the betterment of our nation. Paan-stained walls, paper, plastic litter, smelly corners and dirty sitting areas are a common sight at bus terminals, caused by heavy footfall. With this in mind, AVR Swarna Mahal took up the responsibility of cleaning and maintenance of eight bus terminals (Salem, Tharamangalam, Attur, Kalakurichi, Mettur, Dharmapuri Krishnagiri & Tirupattur) in Tamil Nadu. To support the cause, they have provided automatic sweeping machine for the Salem bus terminal. The machine helps in easy and time-efficient cleaning of bus bays and roads, thus reducing human efforts. Today, the bus terminals are clean and litter free. The waiting room and the offices are spick and span. The parking lot is free of stagnant water, leaky pipes, litter and grime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Construction of traffic roundabout and maintenance:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n To ease traffic congestion in the crowded areas of Salem, AVR Swarna Mahal has built eight such roundabouts (Salem-4, Yercaud-1, Mettur-2 & Erode-1) and installed many barricades, which have been given to traffic police on a regular basis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Beautification of school walls:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n In government schools lacking in facilities, AVR Swarna Mahal has constructed walls and made art paintings on them. This has been carried out in Government Girls HR Sec School in Salem and Kallakurichi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Construction of bus shelter:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n AVR Swarna Mahal has constructed four bus shelters in Dharmapuri and Mettur for the ease of public at large.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Providing financial help for education:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Education is a core part of AVR Swarna Mahal\u2019s mission to help solve society\u2019s toughest problems.
