SUB: REGARDING THE SURVEY DONE BY GJEPC ON THE PROPOSED REVISION IN THE EQUITABLE OPPORTUNITY CLAUSE

Dear Member,
We write in reference to the captioned survey done by the Council from 06th May 2022-13th May 2022 with respect to the revision in the “Equitable Opportunity Clause” the results of which were circulated to all the members on 19th May 2022. Based on the overwhelming results of the survey, the same being a clear mandate from the trade favouring the implementation of the revised Equitable Opportunity clause, the Council shall be implementing the clause from IIJS Premiere 2022 onwards in all its events and exhibitions that will be organised by GJEPC.
Based on the same, all the IIJS applicants may please note that the terms and conditions in the space application form including the revised Equitable Opportunity clause, as is available on https://gjepc.org/iijs-premiere/ shall be binding upon all applicants as part of the terms and conditions of participation in IIJS. The said revised Equitable Opportunity clause is reproduced below for your ease of reference.
“Any member/exhibitor shall not directly or indirectly participate/exhibit at any fair/show/exhibition of any form or nature, related to gems & jewellery, within the city limits where the IIJS is organized which is similar in nature to IIJS for a period of 30 days before the start and 15 days after the completion of IIJS. In case any member who is a participant/exhibitor at IIJS is found violating this clause, then disciplinary action will be initiated against such member/exhibitor, which will include immediate closure of the booth of the member/exhibitor and/or the said member/exhibitor will lose the chance to exhibit or participate at all future events of the Council and/or be blacklisted/debarred from all the future activities of Council.”
Further, in case any member expresses his disagreement with the revised Equitable Opportunity Clause, they may opt to withdraw their application for participation at IIJS Premiere 2022. Such applicants have to write to iijs@gjepcindia.com on or before 05th June 2022 informing the Council of such withdrawal of their participation and revocation of their application form filled for IIJS Premiere 2022. Based on receipt of such written request from a member, GJEPC will refund the entire advance amount paid by the member towards IIJS Premiere 2022 application within 15 working days of receipt of such application.
