UNVEILING THE 8th THEME OF BRILLIANT BHARAT - “हस्तकला / HANDICRAFTS OF INDIA”
|
|
Over the years, Brilliant Bharat, the thematic initiative of IIJS Bharat shows, has celebrated India’s rich cultural heritage, artistic excellence and enduring craftsmanship, creating a meaningful connection between India’s traditions and contemporary jewellery design.
|
|
The journey began with themes like “Textiles of India” at IIJS Bharat – Premiere 2024, followed by “Rediscovering the Scripts of India” at IIJS Bharat – Signature 2025, with a special focus on the ancient Brahmi script. The celebration continued with “Rhythms of India” at IIJS Bharat – Tritiya 2025, showcasing India’s classical dance traditions, and “Architecture of India” at IIJS Bharat – Premiere 2025, drawing inspiration from the country’s magnificent architectural heritage.

The subsequent chapters explored “Art Forms of India” at IIJS Bharat – Signature 2026, “Festivals of India” at IIJS Bharat – Tritiya 2026, and “Music of India” at the recently concluded IIJS Bharat – Premiere 2026.
|
|
Each theme has offered a distinctive perspective on India’s cultural identity, inspiring jewellery designers and manufacturers to reinterpret traditional art, symbolism and craftsmanship through innovative design.
|
|
We are proud to unveil “हस्तकला / Handicrafts of India” as the 8th theme of Brilliant Bharat, to be presented at IIJS Bharat – Signature 2027.
|
|
This edition celebrates India’s extraordinary handicraft traditions — a living legacy of artistic expression, skilled craftsmanship and storytelling passed down through generations. It explores how the colours, motifs, techniques and cultural narratives of traditional crafts can inspire contemporary jewellery that bridges heritage with innovation.

IIJS Bharat – Signature 2027 invites its exhibitors to participate in the Jewellery Crafts Design Competition, presented under this year’s Brilliant Bharat theme — “हस्तकला / Handicrafts of India.”
|
|
The competition encourages exhibitors to translate the spirit of India’s handicraft traditions into distinctive jewellery creations. By bringing together the worlds of handicrafts and jewellery, the initiative celebrates the shared values of artistry, precision, creativity and storytelling.
|
|
Whether traditional or contemporary in expression, your jewellery design should reflect the essence of the theme “हस्तकला / Handicrafts of India.” - India’s rich handicraft heritage.
|
|
|
AWARDS & RECOGNITION:
|
|
The jury will select the three best jewellery pieces from the entries received.
|
|
The winning pieces, along with shortlisted creations, will be showcased at BEC and JWCC in the Brilliant Bharat Gallery at IIJS Bharat – Signature 2027, offering an opportunity to present your creativity to industry peers, buyers, collectors, media and design enthusiasts.
|
|
Selected participants will also receive enhanced visibility through IIJS Bharat communication channels, including social media platforms and the Show Daily.
|
|
This initiative aims to recognise our participants exceptional design, celebrate Indian craftsmanship and encourage the evolution of heritage-inspired jewellery for contemporary audiences.
|
|
|
Participation Details-
|
- Eligibility: For IIJS Bharat – Signature 2027 participants.
- Categories: Rings, Necklaces, Earrings, Wristwear, Brooches, Pendants, and other body accessories.
- Entry Limit: Each exhibitor can submit only one finished jewellery piece inspired by the “हस्तकला / Handicrafts of India” theme.
- Submission Requirements: Only complete, finished jewellery pieces will be accepted. Sketches, CAD renders and prototypes will not be considered.
- Design Inspiration Note: Each entry must be accompanied by a note of up to 50 words explaining the inspiration behind the design, along with the company’s name and stall number.

Important Dates & Submission Schedule -
|
- Deadline to express interest: 16th November 2026, by 6:00 PM.
- Submission of finished jewellery pieces for judging: 23rd November 2026, at 10:00 AM sharp.
- Collection of submitted jewellery pieces: 23rd November 2026, at 3:00 PM.

- All Jewellery must be submitted by the specified deadline.
- All Jewellery must be collected back by your company representative on the same day at 3:00 PM.
- Every participant must share their representative’s phone number and Aadhaar number by 20th November 2026 to facilitate entry into the premises.

How effectively the jewellery interprets the “हस्तकला / Handicrafts of India” theme and reflects the essence of the selected craft tradition.

The balance between artistic expression, functionality, comfort and practical wearability.

03 — Originality & Innovation
The uniqueness of the concept, creative interpretation and design approach.

04 — Craftsmanship & Finish
The quality of workmanship, detailing, technical execution and overall finishing.
