Visitor traffic at the IGJME was slow in the morning session of Day Two but numbers started rising as the day progressed, with many stalls reporting a positive feedback on the show.
Janak Mistry of Lexus said that his company which is displaying some of its latest offerings at the show including the mBox 2.0 and Helium iG Scanner for detailed 3D mapping of inclusions in a diamond, etc described the response from the trade as “phenomenal” and added that IGJME gave an opportunity to meet all clients at one show, as well as many potential new ones. He said that there was a new seriousness among buyers as compared to the first edition, since companies now realised that the show was here to stay, and felt that IGJME would develop its own niche visitors over the years.
Citing an example, he said that one large diamond company had sent two senior persons yesterday, and today returned with 20 senior employees across departments so that each of them could get acquainted with the latest developments in the field. “It also helps when polisher or a bruter, even if he is already highly skilled, understands for himself how the diamonds crafted into jewellery by seeing the machines her.”
At the Turkish Pavilion, Alp Arslain Misir of Alpress, a CNC machine manufacturer and creator of moulds, is satisfied with the response he has received so far. He has been selling in the India market for some years and has clients in the north and south, but is exhibiting in Surat for the first time. “We need to make multiple visits to a potential market before we can establish long-term relationships, and we are happy with what we have achieved till now.”
Naime Ganikciogki of Tarrz Model, another exhibitor from Turkey dealing in master models in metals and rubber, said that there have been quite few clients who will have to be followed up. “The response has been good for us, and I believe that some of the inquiries we have received will definitely translate into business.”
