ALROSA 2016 Sales 26% Higher Y-o-Y at US$ 4.486 Billion

PJSC ALROSA’s total sales (preliminary figures) of rough and polished diamonds for the year 2016 were worth US$ 4.486 billion, marking a 26% growth over the previous year.

The Company’s total diamond sales for December 2016 were to the tune of US$ 176.3 million.

Of this, rough diamond sales for December 2016 amounted to US$ 173 million; and polished diamond sales for the same period stood at US$ 3.3 million.

“Sales results in December in the small-size segment still reflect weakening of small and middle-size Indian diamond-cutting companies due to the monetary reform underway in this country,” commented   Yury Okoemov, ALROSA Vice President. “Activity in other market segments corresponded to the seasonality of demand and our expectations.”
