Design Inspirations

The annual Design Inspirations seminar is centred around a series of discussions to spread awareness on the latest trends in jewellery and consumer behaviour.

The design seminar invites a galaxy of eminent speakers to share their insights on a wide range of topics.

The workshop aims to provide the industry with relevant updates, enabling them to plan their designs and production more effectively for the season ahead.

2020

World’s renowned jewellery forecaster Paola De Luca, conducted a day-long session on the latest trends in jewellery and consumer behaviour. The core themes of Design Inspirations 2020 were – Social Culture (The era of volatility), Sustainable (Being planet sensitive and conscious), Heritage (Looking deeper into authenticity) and lastly, Design (Envisioning the ideals of tomorrow).

Some of the esteemed speakers invited were Ash Allibhai, International Fashion & Content Director, ASBO Magazine; Narendra Kumar, Creative Director, Amazon Fashion; Thomas Lazzarini, Private Client Personal Shopper at Farfetch; Shreyas More, Interior Designer, Green Charcoal Project; Fleur Damman and Noëlle Viguurs, Co-Founder, Van Gelder Jewellery; Saikat Mitra, Creative Director, Van Heusen, VP Design, Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail; Akash Das, Creative Director at MeWeStudioX.

2019

The two-day Design Inspirations seminar revolved around Defining The Trends for 2020. Speakers from India and abroad were called to share their views on the process of design, approach to design-led collections, role of fashion designing, and more.

The seminar saw a galaxy of eminent speakers such as Paola De Luca, founder The Futurist Ltd., Richa Goel Sikri, Curator, Content creator, from Singapore, Harshad Ajoomal, designer and founder of H.Ajoomal Fine Jewellery, Priyanka Kapadia, fashion editor, Vogue, Tom Moses, Vice President of the GIA, Pallavi Foley, jewellery designer, Abhishek Rastogi of Tanishq, Colin Shah, Vice Chairman, GJEPC, Priti Bhatia, jewellery designer, Nirupa Bhatt, Managing Director of GIA, India & the Middle East and President of the Women’s Jewelry Association, India, Ankit Mehta of H. Dipak, and the founder of several other enterprises including Imaginarium; Yash Agarwal of Birdhichand Ghanshyamdas, Amit Singhee, IBM, and Sachin Jain of Forevermark.

2018

The Design Inspirations seminar included speakers such as Colin Shah, Vice Chairman, GJEPC, and Neelesh Hundekari, AT Kearney, who gave insights on consumer behaviour. Ace jewellery designer Alexandra Mor from New York, spoke on Sustainable Haute Couture Jewelry- An Inevitable Future.
