ALROSA Realises US$ 14.8 Million from Auction of Large Rough Diamonds Within the EEF

ALROSA said that it realised US$ 14.8 million from the auction of all 45 large rough diamonds and US$ 1.7 million from the auction of 33 of the 36 polished diamonds presented for sale within the Eastern Economic Forum.

The auction of rough was conducted by the United Selling Organization (USO) of ALROSA which organized previews from August 21 to September 6 of the 45 special size rough diamonds of 10.8+ carats with total weight of 1,293 carats. All the diamonds were sold with revenue amounting to US$ 14.8 million.

ALROSA Vice President Yury Okoyomov said, "Like last year, we note a high interest in the auction. About 50 companies from the US, India, Israel, Belgium, China and UAE participated in it. The most expensive lot was sold for nearly US$ 1.75 million."

At the same event, DIAMONDS ALROSA, the company's own cutting and polishing division, held an auction for polished diamonds, with previews from August 22 to September 5. Of the total 36 stones on offer ranging from 2 to 12 carats in size, 33 were sold with total revenue amounting to US$ 1.7 million.

Pavel Vinikhin, Director of Diamonds ALROSA, said, "Almost all diamonds we offered at the auction were sold at significant premium to starting price.”

The auctions were organized by ALROSA’s Vladivostok division.
