ALROSA’s Latest Auction of Special Size Rough in Israel Takes in US$ 9.3 Mn

ALROSA’s recent auction of special size (over 10.8 carats) rough diamonds in Ramat Gan, Israel, raised a total of US$ 9.3 million. At the auction, the Company sold 92 rough diamonds weighing a total of 1,700 carats.   

More than 30 companies were successful in making winning bids for various lots.

“Local firms, most of which specialise in large rough diamonds, participated in the auction, as well as other representatives of the global diamond market,” said Evgeny Agureev, Member of the Management Board, Director of the United Selling Organization at ALROSA. “We invited over 100 companies. The auction completed with good results, the demand for our products in Israel market remains stable.”

ALROSA held a total of six auctions for special size rough diamonds in Israel in 2018; with the revenue for the year from these auctions reaching almost US$ 90 million.

Four more similar auctions will be held by the end of 2019 in Ramat Gan, ALROSA intimated.
