ALROSA’s Latest Sale of Polished Diamonds in Israel Raises Over US$ 2 Mn

Diamonds ALROSA, a group company of the Russian diamond mining conglomerate,  recently organised a tender in Israel of polished diamonds manufactured by it.

“The company sold 14 polished diamonds with total weight of 108 carats, and 48 fancy coloured polished diamonds weighing 131.6 carats in total,” ALROSA announced. “The overall revenue amounted to US$ 2.2 million.”

Diamond companies from Israel, the US, Belgium, India, Hong Kong and Russia participated in the tender.

“There is a continued interest in large polished diamonds over three carats in the market,” said Pavel Vinikhin, Director of the Diamonds ALROSA cutting division. “Our assortment mostly consists of such stones. In Israel, we presented polished diamonds of different colours and cuts. Despite the relatively weak market, the auction went well, and we are pleased with the results.”

ALROSA plans to hold the next polished diamond tender in Israel in the fall. Apart from this, the Company has scheduled two tenders in the United States, one of which will take place this summer, and the second one in the fall.  ALROSA will also hold the traditional big tender for polished diamonds in Hong Kong this September.
