ALROSA’s Rough Diamond Auction at Vladivostok Garners US$6.5 Mn

At its latest auction of special size (over 10.8 carats) rough diamonds held in Vladivostok, ALROSA sold 112 gem-quality diamonds weighing a total of 1,780 carats, raising a revenue of US$ 6.5 million.

"The market is experiencing a seasonal decline in activity, and our auctions are also under pressure from the industry's general correction of demand for rough diamonds,” commented Evgeny Agureev, Member of the Executive Committee, and Director of the United Selling Organisation ALROSA. “In general, our Far Eastern site continues to attract clients from all over the world. The firms from Russia, Hong Kong, the US, the UAE, Israel, Belgium and India were among the participants, 50 companies in total."

Since the beginning of 2019, ALROSA has held three auctions in Vladivostok, taking in a total of about US$ 25 million. The Company has announced that the next auction in Vladivostok will take place in September, 2019.
