Today, November 29th, ALROSA is holding a silent auction of The Dynasty Collection, considered to be a “unique” group of stones. “More than 130 participants have already registered for the auction, including both firms and private clients,” ALROSA revealed.

To be conducted on ALROSA’s online trading platform, where polished diamonds are put up for auction individually, the stones of The Dynasty Collection will be sold to the entity making the highest bid. ALROSA said that neither will the names of participants be  disclosed; nor will the reserve prices of the diamonds be made public – they will be  shared with registered participants only. 

Over a three-month period, ALROSA had taken The Dynasty Collection to  Hong Kong, Ramat Gan (Israel) and New York, so that potential buyers could have a chance to view the diamonds.

“The Dynasty is the first branded polished diamond collection for ALROSA, which was widely known only as a mining company before,” commented Yury Okoyomov, ALROSA Vice President. “The collection gives a start to a new stage in the development of ALROSA’s cutting division, Diamonds ALROSA. We finalised the international previews of The Dynasty, and now we are ready for the auction. Hundreds of industry and private clients have reviewed The Dynasty collection during the roadshow. Their positive feedback and high level of interest confirm that we succeeded in manufacturing a unique and highest quality collection of polished diamonds.”

Produced from a 179-carat  rough diamond named The Romanovs, The Dynasty Collection consists of five diamonds which have been created  after a year-and-a-half of dedicated application. 

“There was a good reason to choose the name for the collection, which is connected with ALROSA’s intention to revive the traditions and memory of renowned Russian jewellers famous for their craftsmanship and filigree since Russia’s first cutting and polishing factory founded by Peter I early in the 18th century,” ALROSA explained.

The centrepiece of the collection also named The Dynasty, is a 51.38-carat, 57-facet traditional round brilliant-cut diamond, with a Triple Excellent (the best quality cut), D, VVS1 grading. “Such characteristics occur in less than 1% of diamonds worldwide,” ALROSA said. “It is the most clear large diamond ever manufactured throughout Russian jewellery history, and it is expected to be the most valuable stone as well.”
